Bankenveld District City is the future of urban living

The R18 billion Bankenveld District City real estate project is poised to transform urban living in Johannesburg.

Experience a strategic location and connectivity

The mixed-use precinct is an inclusive precinct currently in the planning phase. Situated between the N3 and M1 between Linbro Park and Buccleuch, this real estate development provides excellent accessibility to Sandton via Marlboro. The Bankenveld District City Project will be the most connected precinct North of Johannesburg. It is also situated adjacent to the Gautrain Marlboro Station, allowing high connectivity.

Economic and social impact on the local economy

This ambitious project is expected to generate between 20 000 and 30 000 jobs over the next 15–20 years, significantly boosting the local economy.

The project aims to bridge the affordability gap, provide access to Sandton's economic hub, and promote socio-economic development. The state-of-the-art residential part of the project includes affordable housing .

Approximately 34% of the land is allocated for infrastructure, including roads, stormwater management, and expansive recreational and green belt areas, all designed to enhance the quality of life for residents and neighbouring communities.

Affordable housing and commercial development

The mixed-use development will consist of 500 000 square meters of warehouse and logistics, retail and commercial property developments, as well as 20 000–30 000 housing units that will be built over a period of 15–20 years.

Nedbank’s unique partnership and role

Nedbank Property Partners (NPP) is an equity partner in the project. This is a unique deal for a bank, especially because of the 15–20-year project duration. NPP invested alongside Eris Property Group, with the mandate of rolling out this unique development.  NPP sees the long-term value of this project and understands its impact on society. This property development will create access to better amenities, jobs, schools , and stores and will elevate the socio-economic status of the surrounding areas.
