Africa Energy Forum | 25 - 28 June 2024
To lead growth in Africa, join the Sustainable Finance Partner that backs your goals.
Nedbank Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) joins forces with global stakeholders at the Africa Energy Forum (AEF) 2024, which will be held in Barcelona, Spain, from 25 to 28 June 2024.
This year’s theme focuses on “energy systems of the future – balancing Africa’s needs with global goals.”
Africa's energy sector stands at crucial crossroads and seeks to revive global interest in its potential to drive transformative change. As the continent strives for a secure, equitable, and profitable energy future, AEF emerges as a prime platform for collaboration as well as innovation.
As an industry leader in sustainable finance, we will be sharing in-depth expertise across business ecosystems with fellow key stakeholders, investors and future leaders to help shape the trajectory of Africa's energy sector. These discussions will have a strong focus on the progress and potential of renewable energy, critical-mineral exploration for clean technology and joint strategies, and opportunities for a sustainable future.
As the official Sustainable Finance Partner, we are proud to be represented by Dhireshni Chowthee, Mike Peo, Amith Singh and Ephraim Sehloho at the conference, where Nedbank CIB’s innovative finance solutions and insights for sustainable energy across the continent will be showcased.
Joining the corporate leadership roundtable around decarbonisation policies and the effect of global climate goals on Africa’s ability to invest in its future, is Dhireshni Chowthee, Principal of Energy Finance at Nedbank CIB. These initial discussions held on 25 June are the official launch of the forum and will focus on the issue of balancing Africa's needs with global development goals.
Mike Peo – Head of Infrastructure, Energy and Telecommunications at Nedbank CIB – will be a key participant to the discussions on 27 June around opportunities, risks and financing tools needed to explore hydrogen opportunities in Africa. He will also be highlighting our unwavering commitment to renewable energy and green hydrogen projects, aligning perfectly with our long-term sustainability goals.
Nedbank CIB’s Head of Energy Finance, Amith Singh, will be the moderator for the discussion on the growing influence of energy aggregators in decarbonising mining. This session promises insightful discussions on key trends shaping the future of sustainable mining.
Rounding out the forum, Ephraim Sehloho, Nedbank CIB’s Senior Client Coverage Banker, joins the 28 June panel on navigating the power markets. This session will uncover and explore the financing tools needed to tackle the evolving landscape.
Nedbank CIB’s attendance at AEF 2024 provides the opportunity to connect with sector experts while sharing learnings as a leading Sustainable Finance Partner. The conference will also highlight our proven growth partnership stories, while extending an invitation to new collaborators for the next chapter of Africa’s energy transition: to lead growth in Africa, join the Sustainable Finance Partner that backs your goals.
